Abstract
- In the epoch of modernity, the philosophers' research interests have shifted from abstract discussing of the highest principles of being and eternal verities, from developing universal vision and systems to the problems of there-being. The issues of there-being tightly relate to human life existential and meaning questions. Are we - as human beings - really only an ephemeral moment in the immense process of being which will pass never to repeat? Must we fully savor this existent moment or shall we leave something for the eternity? Are we able to give anything to the Universe? Philosophers reflect on human life, poets express it in words. Philosophers theorize on cognizing the meaning of the truth, poets perceive it intuitively. According to Heidegger, poets are the true interpreters of being. Reflection on issues of being involves the cognitive features of the human mind stirred to activity resulting in the fact that two aspects of thinking are employed - logical thinking and imaginative thinking. Things that the philosophers voice through logical judgments, poets express through images. The creative vision of poets and the theoretical insights of philosophers discussed in the paper manifest the idea that we are united with the cosmos and with everything-there-is alive. According to Tymieniecka, the sense-giving factors for human life are the intelligent, the aesthetic and the moral senses. According to Tymieniecka and Plato, the significant force imminent in nature, cosmos and the human being is the drive to create. To unfold one's creative spirit is the meaning and telos of human life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
