Abstract

The article reports on a new rule issued by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) on exposure to silica in construction. Exposure to respirable crystalline silica can cause serious health issues. The permissible exposure limit (PEL) is now 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air for an 8-hour timeweighted average.
