Abstract

This article presents information related to sociological affairs. The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania announce three awards, each of $5,000, for distinguished works in the Humanities and the Social Sciences, which may appear as the first volumes of the Haney Foundation Series. All decisions pertaining to the granting of these awards and the publication of the winning entries will be determined by the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and will be final. The final date for submission of manuscripts is August 1, 1965. The Institute of International Education announces scholarship opportunities for graduate study in Asia, 1964-65. Scholarship awards in most cases cover tuition, books, travel and maintenance. For eligibility requirements and details regarding application, students should consult the Fulbright Program Adviser on campus, the Summaries of Study Opportunities and the brochure, "the U.S. Government Grants for Graduate Study Abroad, 1964-65". Through the kindness of Judge Thurman Arnold, the firm of Arnold, Fortas and Porter, 1229-19th Street, Washington D.C., has agreed, in the public interest, to act as legal counsel for the American Sociological Association.
