Abstract

The article discusses the state of the Sheffield psychological service in Great Britain following the Education Reform Act (ERA) 1988, which introduced Local Management of Schools (LMS), based from the author's observation as principal educational psychologist from 1991-1995. It addresses the development of a determined quality psychological service. It also offers the author's reflections on the period from the 1970s on which this development was established.
