Abstract
- This article focuses on the changing demographics in the regional lands in the U.S. Demographics are changing throughout the Hudson Valley and their impact on populations, inner cities, politics and economic development will be felt in the months and years ahead. The Census Bureau reports that, by 2050, the nation's white population will shrink to 50.1 percent, barely a majority, as the population of Latinos and Asians grows. The Afro-American's population will remain relatively stable. Changing demographics have not gone unnoticed by the business community. Some chambers of commerce and other membership organizations are reaching out to the Latino and other minority communities.
