Abstract

The article discusses a study which examined progressive multifocal leucoencephalopathy (PML) in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) patients treated with ibrutinib, a small molecule irreversible inhibitor of Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK). PML is described as a rare infection of the central nervous system (CNS). Also mentioned are therapeutic uses of ibrutinib and the clinical outcomes for patients with ibrutinib-associated PML.
