Abstract

In the article, the author presents information about the French government attitude towards the U.S. and the current political agitation between the two countries. The author recounts that he has been moved by a patriotic article by M. Guihannec, titled, "Washington's Isn't French Capital," as it has an almost epigrammatic clarity, balance, and vigor. Its message of independence brought despair to our American cousins, whose almost slavish reliance on the French nation has been long remarked by several philosophers. Still reeling from their defeat by the tiny countries of Canada and Mexico in the preliminary round of the World Cup football competition last year, the U.S. are ill prepared to face resistance from a civilized and beautiful country with a celebrated culture.
