Abstract
- The article provides an overview of the history of "agony aunt" feature in magazines. Researchers have discovered that the first agony aunt started with 32-year-old John Dunton, a printer and bookseller who had an affair and have no idea who to ask for advice, in 1961. He got an idea to launch the paper "Athenian Gazette" that threw open to readers and was totally dedicated to problem questions and answers.
