Abstract
- Novel 2-D gray-scale inkjet printed microstrip line (MSL) terminations are presented in this paper. The proposed open-end type MSL termination is constructed of a lossy trace printed on paper and placed on a typical dielectric substrate with background. Optimal design guidelines are also discussed for attaining best absorption band given ink resistivity and termination size. Both fixed width and tapered width lines are presented, experimentally showing high absorption levels over a wide bandwidth. These simple to fabricate structures may find applications in scenarios where low-cost wideband planar terminations are needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
