Abstract
- This article provides information on the performance of the journal 'Construction Management and Economics.' The publication has witnessed a growth in the number of papers received from 2002-2004. The average time for refereeing is around 13 weeks. There is an increase in the average time elapsed between the date of submission and the date the modified paper is accepted. Factors, such as geographical and topical variety, as well as hitting the target number of pages per issue, affect the schedule of final publication. In the March 2004 issue of the journal, Wang Dulaimi and Aguria have identified risks associated with international construction projects in developing countries. The differences in leadership behavior of managers in construction settings were explored by Giritli and Oraz. In the same issue, three authors proposed the use of traditional quality cost models based on prevention, appraisal and failure to construction projects. Issues related to U.S. construction industry such as the production arrangements of U.S. contractors and the impact of wage decline on the ability to attract and retain qualified workers were examined. Topics for the forthcoming issues of the journal will include the study on the development of the construction legal system in China and logistic regression approach to modelling the contractors' decision bid.
