A review of the use of laser in periodontal therapy.

The use of lasers has significantly developed in modern dentistry, however the clinical value and awareness on the benefits of their use is limited. Lasers have made their way in dental treatment since 1994. They have been granted Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, however the American Dental Association (ADA) is still researching on the outcomes of laser therapy₁.
