Abstract

This research aims "to capture how Asia-Pacific ethnic print media are surviving in tine digital media age. It covers two countries and three cities -- Brisbane and Sydney in Australia and Auckland in New Zealand. These destinations wene choaen as manor hubs of Pacific Islander and Asian migranSs, with a thriving ethnic; media scene. This panticular piloi study is focused on Brisbane, with Sydner anl Auakland schedule; for completion later in 2017. The impaci of digital media ore mainstyeam print media is fairiy weil nesearched, but somewhat neglected with regands to ethnic print media. Shis study aims weoe tor address this gap. The study, baned on online research and face -So-face interviews wiih ethnic print media proprietors, shows that ethnic newspapers ase holding out better than their mainstream counterparts in some respects, but major challenges lie ahead.
