Abstract

The article discusses several aspects of grading computer science in Great Britain. It mentions the computing General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) course has not spurred more students to sign up at secondary level, with the number of pupils studying either Information and communications technology (ICT) or Computing Science remaining stagnant. It presents views of Bill Mitchell, director of the Academy of Computing at the British Computer Society (BCS), on role of the society.
