Abstract: This paper presents a method and system for remote online monitoring of patients' cardiac rhythm with formation of an alarm signal on detection of episodes of atrial fibrillation. The structure of the system, algorithms, and decision rule for detecting episodes and algorithms for forming alarm signals for the patient and physician are proposed, and results from testing the system using a database of confirmed traces of ECG signals are evaluated.
