Abstract

In this paper, dielectric properties of Ni-Zn ferrite and carbon nanotube (CNT) composites were investigated at room temperature. Composites of CNTs and Nd-doped Ni-Zn ferrites were prepared with different CNT ratios by weight (0-1 %). Ferrite samples were prepared using a simplified sol-gel method with the composition NiZnFeNdO. Nd doping increased the resistivity of Ni-Zn ferrites than that of the un-doped sample. All the composite samples were sintered, and structural analysis was done through X-ray diffraction (XRD). Dielectric constant and dielectric loss increased and impedance decreased with an increase of CNT ratio, but both decreased with frequency. However, AC conductivity increased with CNT ratio as well as with frequency. The composite material with 1 % CNT ratio is suitable for high capacitive applications due to large dielectric constant.
