Advocacy for identifying certain animal diseases as “neglected”.

The article presents the authors' views on the identification of some animal diseases as neglected. According to the authors, it is required to add certain animal diseases to the World Health Organization's (WHO) list of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) as this helps to attract funding and generate disease-control efforts. The authors believe that some of the animal diseases impact households through livestock mortality, leading to income losses and food insecurity.
