Abstract

In this article liturgy is considered from the phenomenological standpoint. Based on the examples of the most important meetings described in the Bible, their main characteristics are revealed from the viewpoint of fullness of a person's vital world. It is substantiated that the paradigmatic way of inviting and meeting with God is the Meal, which is actually manifested in the Divine Liturgy up till now. The meeting, as the Bible describes it, is not a communicative fact, but it is a living communion with God in its secrecy and at the same time openness. It unfolds by stages as two modes of being: «being before» (premonition, standing in front of Him) and «being with» (actually, a liturgical koinonia), inseparable from one another «stages» of the communion. The Eucharistic liturgy is the Christ-centered transcendental «nowadays», the meeting of God the Logos with his people. In general, the liturgical koinonia is preceded by the Meeting, the meeting - the Call and the Coming of the invited - Christians who are cognizant and united by the common goal of Thanksgiving. The communal discourse of the meeting in the liturgy is important, because it is consonant with others. Others do not only stand before you, but witness before God for you. The meeting in the liturgy is not only an event, but it is also its experience, which precedes and is a premonition of the next meeting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
