Abstract

The author reflects on the topic of regional nodal irradiation (RNI) in women with node-positive and high-risk node-negative breast cancer. Also cited are the benefits of systemic therapies like hormonal therapy and chemotherapy on the risk of locoregional recurrence (LRR), the effectiveness of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-directed treatment, and the effectiveness of the therapies in disease-free survival (DFS).
