Support grows for paying surrogates.

The article highlights the Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society's support for amendments to the Assisted Human Reproduction Act to permit reasonable compensation for surrogates as well as gamete donors. Issues and concerns discussed are the viability of a system of compensation for third-party reproduction, clarity of rules pertaining to the financial reimbursement of gamete donors and surrogates, and grounds for banning surrogate compensation in the country.
