Abstract

The article discusses a study which examined whether the megakaryocyte cell line MEG-01 that have taken up recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa) will produce platelets containing functionally active rFVIIa. Topics discussed include the role of functionally active rFVIIa in haemostasis, the influence of glycoprotein IbĪ±, negatively charged phospholipids and endolthelial protein receptor C on rFVIIa uptake, and the treatment of inhibitor-complicated hemophilia using rFVIIa.
