Abstract

The article discusses return of the Land-Value Tax (LVT) as an advantage for architects due to stimulation of construction and removal of disincentive to construct higher-quality buildings. Topics discussed include views of Henry George, on private land-ownership as unfortunate paradox due to rising rents in cities but not wages, LVT pairing with property taxes in Pennsylvania and LVT carrying political risks as it could hit the land-rich and income poor taxpayers.
