Abstract

The article discusses the Ballan wrasse in which as a cleaner fish it is important to control salmon lice (Lepeophtheirus salmonis) in farming of Atlantic salmon and over long distances the transportion of fish as it results in spreading of infectious diseases. Also, concluded the wrasse is not susceptible to pancreas disease and is unlikely a reservoir for the salmonid alphavirus subtype 2 and 3.
