Abstract
- The article presents a discussion on zonation of pollen diagrams in relation to the necessity for correct biostratigraphical subdivision. It also presents an outline of a process of correlation of pollen diagrams to a chronostratigraphical framework. Pollen diagrams have been constructed from Pleistocene deposits in many parts of the world. A pollen diagram is a biostratigraphical record related to a period of time. The zones are ascribed to particular times and then their pollen characteristics were described.
