Abstract

The article presents a study of stratigraphy, pollen and other organic material of deposits at Corstorphine, Edinburgh, Scotland. Lacustrine deposits at Corstorphine are situated in western Edinburgh, lyning within a broad west to east depression several mile in length. The lacustrine deposits consist of two distinct series. Lower beds are marls, clays and silts of Late-Weichselian age and upper are thin muds and silty layers representing deposits of the Flandrian stage of the loch.Small, isolated patches of the younger organic material occur in shalloow depressions in the surface of teh sand and gravel horizon.
