Control of ribosome biosynthesis in plant cell cultures under heat-shock conditions.

Reports on the immediate block of ribosome biosynthesis in heat-shocked tomato cell cultures which is primarily caused by the complete inhibition of pre-rRNP processing. Reduction of levels of the synthesis of pre-rRNP depending on the heat-shock conditions; Improvement of the synthesis and/or preservation of pre-rRNP during heat shock by preconditioning of the cells to the hyperthermic treatment.
