Abstract
- The results of measurements of the spectral and temporal parameters of the 3ω[sub 0]/2-harmonic emission in experiments on irradiating burning-through thin foils by laser pulses with intensities of ∼10[sup 14 ]W/cm[sup 2] are presented and analyzed. The time-dependent scale length of the plasma density and the temperature at a level of one-fourth the critical density are estimated from the measured splitting between the spectral components and the measured ratio of their intensities by using a simplified model that takes into account the detailed mechanism for 3ω[sub 0]/2-harmonic generation. © 2004 MAIK “Nauka / Interperiodica”.
