Abstract

The article presents a study which described a chemical screen using normal human colonic epithelial cells (HCEC) and a series of oncogenically progressed HCECs with a truncated adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein in a mouse model. Also cited are the prevalence of APC gene mutations in colorectal cancer (CRC), and the effectiveness of the small molecule called truncated APC selective inhibitor-1 (TASIN-1) in killing cells with APC truncations only.
