Abstract
- The article discusses a study which found that nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD<superscript>+</superscript>) repletion is effective in improving muscle function in neuromuscular diseases like Duchene's muscular dystrophy (DMD) and delay both age-related and mdx muscle stem cell senescence. In the mice study, the correlations between the abundance of messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) transcripts related to mitochondrial biogenesis, the dystrophin-sarcoglycan complex, and NAD<superscript>+</superscript> were observed.
