Abstract

The article discusses assignment of the human solute carrier family 4, sodium bicarbonate cotransporter like, member 10 gene (SLC4A10) to 2q23->q24 by insitu hybridization and radiation hybrid mapping. Recently, a novel cDNA encoding a bicarbonate transporter-like protein was isolated from the mouse insulin secreting cell line MIN6 cDNA library. A part of the human homolo- gue of the gene, SLC4A 10 has been cloned and mapped to human chromosome 2q23->q24. To confirm the chromo- somal location, somatic cell hybrid mapping and radiation hybrid mapping were performed.
