Abstract
- The article focuses on the impacts of oil prices, shipping rates and foreign exchange on the U.S. pulp and paper industry. Topics include decline in demand for exports from China due to high yield than needed with building of mega ships for trade, decrease in prices for ocean shipping fuel such as bunker fuel and marine diesel oil (MDO) in the second half of 2014 and correlation of increase in the competitiveness of imports with changes in foreign exchange rates and fall in shipping costs.
