Abstract: The article presents a case study of a 65-year old female with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) treated for several years by multiple proton pump inhibitors. Topics mentioned include the esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGDS) performed to her which revealed a hiatal hernia, the safety measures for surgical operation, and the crural closure reinforcement during the hiatal hernia repair.
