Abstract

The article focuses on emergence of biospecimen repositories and integrated databases as critical infrastructure for pathogen discovery and pathobiology research. It mentions dependence of biomedical and pathobiology communities on archived human specimens to explore areas of etiology and pathogenesis of human diseases. It also mentions analysis of taxonomy of several zoonotic pathogen reservoirs.
