Abstract: This paper outlines the development of diagnostic criteria, therapeutic procedures, and preliminary findings concerning anorexia nervosa in Czechoslovakia. The therapeutic significance of a specialized care unit for anorexia nervosa with a specific daily regimen comprising behavior therapy, dietary measures, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and family therapy is evaluated. A better therapeutic effect was achieved in this unit than with previous therapeutic methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
