Abstract
- The article focuses on the views of Mike Mills, film writer and director of the film "20th Century Women," on the characters, plot and making of the film. He discusses his films' inspiration from his parents, actress Annette Bening portraying the role of Mills' mother in the film, his mother's androgynous personality, and other characters in the film played by Greta Gerwig and Lucas Jade Zumann. Mills also reflects upon the success of his film at the 2016 New York Film Festival.
