Abstract

The article focuses on the concerns related to trade deficit in fresh and processed fruits and vegetables in the U.S. with the rise in export of U.S. fruit and vegetable in 2015. It mentions that competitive market conditions, lower average import tariffs and government-subsidized production are the main reason of trade deficit. It also mentions that exchange rate fluctuations and structural changes in the U.S. food industry.
