Abstract
- The paper discusses theoretical problems in historiography since the 1980s referring to the concept of nomadic epistemologies developed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. By studying relations (instead of causalities), movements (instead of conditions), amalgamations, hybridizations, transitions, and transformations (instead of differences), nomadic epistemologies were able to open up new fields and capture new connections. But a new methodological problem arose: Where should the research start? What should be included and what should be excluded? Which actors are worth following? Which narrative fits with these new heuristics of relations and circulations? And most importantly: When is the research complete?. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
