Abstract
- The article offers suggestions on culturally responsive instructional strategies to contextualize instruction for English language learners (ELLs) with learning disabilities (LD). Topics discussed include using activities like playing word games and word sorting to develop vocabulary skills in ELLs with LD, assessing students' prior knowledge and making explicit connections in order to facilitate connections to prior knowledge, and developing interactive activities to engage students.
