Abstract

The author discusses the state of mass media in China under the leadership of the country's President Xi Jinping of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It explores the control over media and its use for propaganda and spreading the government agenda and restricting public disclosure. Also discussed are the crackdown on the freedom of reporting under the leadership of President Xi, the Internet use policy, and adoption of anti-terror law.
