The fixture planning of modular fixtures for measurement.

A Computer Aided Fixturing System (CAPS) was used in this paper to study the planning of modular fixtures for measurement using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). This paper proposes fixturing planning of a complicated small supporting face and a large general supporting face. Group Technology (GT) was used to establish the coding database of the modular fixture element for use in the system.
