Abstract

The article discusses colonization of a bacterium called clostridium difficile in asymptomatic Infants from age between 1-12 that is identified with antibiotic-associated diarrhea in patients. Topics discussed include development of protective serum and stool immunoglobulins; absence of symptoms in the setting of colonization; and higher percentage of positive tests in female patients than male patients.
