Abstract

Operating a CPV plant at its maximum efficiency to lower the cost of energy requires complete monitoring of the ambient and of the output parameters as well as a thorough method to detect failures as soon as they occur. This paper demonstrates the accuracy of a model for complete system output power prediction based on easily recordable data such as global normal irradiance, direct normal irradiance, spectral mismatch ratio, ambient temperature, wind speed and relative humidity. Over more than 50 days, the AC output energy of the tested plant has been predicted with an accuracy better than 2% and hourly predictions only show a deviation of 1.1%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
