Abstract

The article presents a study that examined loneliness as a determinant of emotion regulation associations with depressive symptoms in women with breast cancer. Topics discussed include the mental health benefits of emotional approach coping having been identified as a potentially adaptive form of emotion regulation. Also mentioned are findings supporting implicit processes as influential mechanisms of emotion regulations and suggest targets for intervention among breast cancer survivors.
