Abstract

The article presents the authors' views in response to an article on the lack of teaching preparation for business doctoral programs in the U.S. Topics discussed include organized pressure faced by business schools from external forces, such as students, parents, and organizations; a U.S. educational model that believed that nurtured researchers would develop teaching skills naturally; and measurement of teaching effectiveness in doctoral programs.
