Abstract
- Studies of three related Cd<superscript>II</superscript> systems (a discrete [Cd<superscript>II</superscript><subscript>2</subscript>] unit, a one-dimensional [Cd<superscript>II</superscript><subscript>2</subscript>]<subscript>n</subscript> coordination polymer and a Cd<superscript>II</superscript>-based MOF) all derived from the ligand 2,4,6-tris(2-pyrimidyl)-1,3,5-triazine, reveal an exceptionally rare example of <superscript>113</superscript>Cd–<superscript>113</superscript>Cd J coupling in the polymer that is detectable by solid-state NMR (<superscript>2</superscript>J<subscript>Cd–Cd</subscript> = ∼65 Hz).
