Abstracts.

This article presents abstracts of papers presented at the Annual Meeting of the Applied Vision Association held at Langdale Hall, Manchester, England on April 8-10, 1991. The theme of the meeting was perceiving degraded images. Recent and impending developments in the field of video communication include the development of low-cost digital video-telephone system. These systems will necessitate restrictions on the values of certain screen parameters because of the limited bandwidth available for the video signal.
