Abstract

The article focuses on need to coordinate funding for humanitarian emergencies. Topics discussed include United Nations Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon's decision to appoint the High-Level Panel on Humanitarian Financing; issues related to funding gap; and need for political leadership to prevent and resolve conflicts and to increase investment in disaster risk reduction (DRR).
