Abstract

Discusses whether prescribing aspirin and ibuprofen to patients being discharged after myocardial infarction is associated with an increased risk of death. Use of the database compiled by the Cooperative Cardiovascular Project in the United States; Number of Medicare patients in the study; Finding that the two drugs did not interact adversely; Possible bias in this research; Limitations of another study that concluded patients who received combined therapy were at an increased risk of death.
