Abstract
- The article presents an interview with James Cowling, the head of the storage team of cloud storage service Dropbox. Among the issues he discussed include how Dropbox built its own storage infrastructure called Magic Pocket and migrated 500 petabytes of data from Amazon's cloud, the economic benefits for Dropbox of building its own storage system, and the four phases of Magic Pocket.
