Facile preparation of self-cleaning superhydrophobic coatings.

A simple and broadly applicable method was used to prepare the superhydrophobic coating, which reveals excellent performance with extremely water repellency and self-cleaning. By the use of hydrophobic PTEF or PVDF/TiO₂ particles, the water repellence of the coating surface is enhanced; the property of coating with PVDF/TiO₂ particles is better. Because of the addition of photocatalytic TiO₂, the coating exhibits excellent self-cleaning ability and antifouling property with contact angle of water all above 150°. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
