The authors reflect on the physical complexities, challenges and continuity of patients using intravenous drugs in which drug overdose is one factor of drug-related mortality rates globally. The authors cites the physical problems the general practitioners should be aware of including infections, hepatitis C and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). They also discuss the issues of health care provided by the practitioners assuring the patients that they are treated with standard services.
